Polaris, the Guiding

"Through the darkest depths,
Not a shriek was exclaimed,
For They All felt safe,
In the light of her flame."

Polaris, the Guiding, was born during the most ferocious segment of the Monster Wars, set in motion by her mother Duska the Merciless. Because this wave was the worst in centuries, she never got to go through the wand ceremony, because her mother needed it to fight. Polaris was raised by the servants of the castle, and by decree of her mother, kept in the safest depths of the stronghold. She never made any friends outside the staff and guards, and barely knew her mother during all that time. At the age of 17, after her mother fell in battle and the castle was demolished by the opposing monstrous forces, she was forced to take on a leadership role and guide her subjects out of their overrun kingdom. In spite of growing up in the safest environment imaginable, and never truly experiencing the effects of the war, the impact from her suddenly changed life gave her the wisdom she needed to lead her people to a new kingdom. She would throw away her crown, her possessions, all but the clothes on her body and the wand which lit the way through the darkest woods and dangers. None of her subjects ever shuddered in fear as she guided them to safety, until the day they would find a new land, and build a new empire which remained standing through every threat yet to come. Eventually, after her kingdom was rebuilt she would marry a loyal soldier who stood by her, and later gave birth to her daughter, Constella the Cultivator.
